Volunteers Needed For Triathlon – Last Weekend of August

2009-05-28_2The Cranberry Trifest (formerly Cranberry Country Triathlon) will be on Saturday & Sunday, August 29 & 30, 2009.  The site is the Ted Williams Camp, with entrances off Precinct Street and MA Route 18 in Lakeville, MA.  A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Ted Williams Camp.  Other beneficiaries include the Kiwanis of Bridgewater.

The sprint will be on Saturday and will consist of a 0.5 mile swim, a 12 mile bike, and a 3.1 mile run starting at 9:00 AM.  The kids duathlon will follow the sprint (distance TBD).  The intermediate distance triathlon (0.8 mile swim/24.9 mile bike/6.2 mile run) will be on Sunday at 8:00 AM.  The event coordinator donates to ham groups who help out!  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Antone D. Volunteers Needed For Triathlon – Sunday, September 20th

2009-05-28_3The Buzzards Bay Triathlon (a Max Performance event) will be on Sunday, September 20, 2009.  The site is Demarest Lloyd State Park on Barney’s Joy Road in Dartmouth, MA.  The sprint is a 1/3 mile swim, 14.7 mile bike and 3.1 mile run.  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Antone D. Volunteers Needed For Triathlon – Saturday, June 20th

2009-05-28The Patriot Triathlon will be on Saturday, June 20, 2009 and starts at 7:00AM.  The site is Cathedral Camp, located at 167 Middleboro Road in East Freetown, MA on the shores of Long Pond.  A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Cathedral Camp day camp for disadvantaged children.  Other beneficiaries include the Kiwanis of Bridgewater, Whitman Food Pantry and EMS of Acushnet.  The Patriot Triathlon is also a designated race in the American Cancer Society’s Charity Runner Program.

The event includes a 1.2 mile swim, 58.3 mile bike (2 loops) and 13.1 mile run.  The first wave will go off at 7:00 AM.  Cut-off times for each leg of the race are as follows.  All swimmers must be out of the water by 8:45AM.  All bikers must be off the course by 1:00PM. All runners must be off the course by 4:30PM.  All volunteers are invited to enjoy the post-race catered meal at no additional charge.  The event coordinator donates to ham groups who help out!  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Antone D. Volunteers Needed For Triathlon – Saturday, July 5th

2008-05-18SCMARG is looking for volunteers to help with the Patriot Triathlon 2008.   This event is scheduled for Saturday, July 5th and is based out of Cathedral Camp in Freetown, MA.  Amateur radio operators are needed to monitor racers along a 1.2 mile swim, 58 mile bike and a 13.1 mile run.  The event lasts a large portion of the day from about 7am until 5pm.  All volunteers will receive a race tee-shirt and a free catered meal.

Duarte, Jr., N1XRS.  Both SCMARG and the Acushnet EMA were contacted by Eric Averill (director of the event) and will be jointly participating.  Whether you are interested in volunteering for a portion of the day or full the full event, your participation is appreciated.

Volunteers Needed For Triathlon – Sunday, August 26th

2007-08-07SCMARG is looking for volunteers to help with the Cranberry County Triathlon 2007.  This event is scheduled for Sunday, August 26st and is based out of Ted Williams Camp on MA Route 18 in Lakeville, MA.  Amateur radio operators are needed to monitor racers along a 24.9 mile bike course and a 6.2 mile run.  After the event, there will be a fabulous barbecue, plus a DJ and live music.

Volunteers Needed For Triathlon – Sunday, July 1st

2007-05-03SCMARG is looking for volunteers to help with the Patriot Half Iron 2007 Triathlon.  This event is scheduled for Sunday, July 1st and is based out of Cathedral Camp in Freetown, MA.  Amateur radio operators are needed to monitor racers along a 28 mile bike course and a 13.1 mile run.  All volunteers will receive a race tee-shirt and a fabulous pasta meal from Riccardi’s, who is catering the event.
